Shah Rukh Khans Pathaan 2 To Be Shot In This Country

Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham’s Pathaan is getting a sequel, much to the excitement of fans. The 2023 film directed by Siddharth Anand emerged as the second highest-grossing Indian film of 2023 and the third highest-grossing Hindi film of all time.

Now, we are getting to know that the team will be heading to Chile to shoot a major portion of the film. According to a report in Mid-Day, the film will go on the floor next year, and a major chunk will be shot in Chile. Notably, Chilean President Gabriel Boric Font and Minister of Culture and Arts, Carolina Arredondo, met with Indian creatives sometime back.

As per filmmaker-actor Anshuman Jha, who met the Chilean delegates, “There are concrete conversations of Pathaan 2 by Yash Raj Films and Lakadbaggha 3 being shot in Chile next year. I hope we help His Excellency’s vision of bringing the beauty of Chile to the world through our cinema.”

Pathaan is a part of Yash Raj Films’ expanding Spy Universe. It will see SRK returning as the charismatic RAW agent Pathaan, while Deepika will reportedly reprise her role as Rubina. There are also speculations that Ashutosh Rana, who played Colonel Sunil Luthra, might be back for the sequel.

At the moment, Shah Rukh is busy shooting for King, where he shares screen space with his daughter, Suhana Khan. The film will be directed by Pathaan director Siddharth Anand. However, it is reportedly facing a delay in its production schedule. Initially planned to commence filming on May 16, 2025, the shoot has now been tentatively pushed to a July–August window, according to recent reports. This delay comes in the wake of the conflict between India and Pakistan. In addition to external factors, the delay is also reportedly tied to creative decisions. Shah Rukh Khan is said to be deeply involved in the development of the script and has requested further refinements to ensure the storyline does justice to his daughter Suhana Khan’s big debut.
