Recently, Aamir Khan and Ashutosh Gowariker announced their upcoming film Lalkaara. The news got the industry buzzing with excitement because of Aamir and Ashutosh’s reunion after Lagaan (2001). Farhan Akhtar was also a part of the cast initially apart from bankrolling the film alongside Ritesh Sidhwani. However, there seems to be a major development in the cast, after reports of Farhan’s exit made the headlines earlier today.

Farhan Akhtar was supposed to play a pivotal role in Lalkaara, a film based on the life of legendary Indian cricketer Lala Amarnath.  But he reportedly exited the film due to the shooting schedule clashing with Neeraj Pandey’s upcoming film based on the life of RD Burman.

After Farhan’s exit the reports were rife that Sidhant Gupta will be a part of the project. Our source has confirmed the same. The
source further revealed, “Amid ongoing  reports of Farhan Akhtar’s departure from Lalkaara, Sidhant Gupta has come on board to play the parallel lead alongside Aamir Khan in the sports drama.”

The actor is expected to prep hard for his role in the film.

Lalkaara is set against the backdrop of the 1947 Partition and the iconic 1952 India-Pakistan Test series. Even though Farhan has exited the film as an actor, he will continue to co-produce the project. Moreover, Farhan even spoke to Aamir and Ashutosh before exiting the project amicably.
