Nithiin’s new film, Alias Rukmini, backed by Nani’s Unanimous Productions, was officially launched with a traditional pooja ceremony on Monday (August 3). The romantic drama is written and directed by Murali Kanth Devasoth and produced by Deepthi Ganta. Along with the launch, the makers unveiled an intriguing concept video introducing the mysterious character of Rukmini, a novelist whose story forms the heart of the film.

A friendship comes full circle

Nani and Nithiin have shared a close bond for years and are among the few contemporaries in Telugu cinema who have consistently supported each other’s work. Their friendship has now translated into a professional collaboration, with Nani presenting Alias Rukmini.

Their journey together dates back more than two decades. Before making his acting debut, Nani worked as an assistant director on Nithiin’s 2005 film Allari Bullodu. Years later, the two friends have come full circle, with Nani now lending his banner and support to Nithiin’s latest project.

Speaking at the launch, Nithiin thanked Nani for backing a distinctive script and for introducing him to director Murali Kanth Devasoth. The actor also expressed confidence that Alias Rukmini would offer audiences a fresh romantic drama with an intriguing narrative. The film is currently in the early stages of production, with the remaining cast and technical crew expected to be announced soon.
