Director Deepak Kumar Mishra’s folk-thriller The Vvaan has left the audience impressed with its blend of ancestral folklore, environmental themes, and divine mythology. Starring Sidharth Malhotra as Rishi and Tamannaah Bhatia as Mamta, the movie builds up to a gripping confrontation inside the forbidden sacred forest, guarded by Van Devi, and if you left the theater wondering how the end connects the human characters to Van Devi yet again, I have a feeling that queen Ekta R Kapoor might turn this into a full-fledged world!

Does Van Devi Come To Rishi & Mamta’s Life?

The end shows Rishi and Mamta welcoming a daughter into their life! But the last shot shows a glint in the newborn’s eyes, hinting that she might have superpowers or be blessed by Van Devi herself. Throughout the movie, Rishi is depicted as a rationalist who disbelieves the ancient legends surrounding the sacred forest surrounding his ancestral village. However, his wife, Mamta, is deeply devoted to faith and tradition.

When corrupt corporate and local political forces, led by Deepak (Sunil Grover), attempt to bulldoze through the sacred land to construct a highway, they unleash a sinister dark force lurking beneath the ancient seal.

The Climax & The Divine Awakening

In the intense climax, Rishi realizes that he is bound to the sacred soil by an ancestral duty. When all human logic fails against the dark entity unleashed by human greed, Mamta’s unwavering devotion and Rishi’s past life invoke the spiritual energy of Van Devi.

Rishi’s Blessing

Van Devi does not physically walk away with Rishi and Mamta as a mortal entity; instead, her divine presence manifests directly through the forces of nature to protect the couple. By acknowledging Rishi as the rightful guardian of Dev Van, Van Devi empowers him to seal away the dark entity, restoring the ecological and spiritual balance of the land.

Prequel Or Sequel: Where Does The Story Go Next?

The final moments of The Vvaan leave clear narrative breadcrumbs pointing toward an expanded cinematic universe. However, it can choose either a prequel or a sequel to take the story forward! The narrative hints at a centuries-old backstory regarding the kingdom of Vikramaditya! A prequel could explore the original curse!

While good triumphs over evil in the main finale, the ending teases Van Devi and her superpowers restored with Rishi and Mamta, in the form of their newborn daughter! They could together defend the sacred ecosystem from newer modern threats.

Either way, Chhathi Maiya’s story doesn’t feel done telling itself yet.
