A beige Moncler cap and dark sunglasses completed his airport style. His relaxed and unruffled aura was cool. The short hair and bare face are a clear departure from the look he had maintained for 21 months during the shoot of SS Rajamouli’s directorial, Varanasi.
Clean-shaven, Mahesh’s identity
The superstar’s clean-shaven avatars have always held a special place in the hearts of his fans. In his early career, this was the look he was best known for. Films like Raja Kumarudu and Murari struck a chord with audiences, largely thanks to his boyish charm and fresh-faced appeal. That clean-shaven image became his identity for years. It was only later that he switched things up. In Guntur Kaaram, he sported a rugged, bearded look that showed a rougher, more intense side of him. He is back to his classic look, and for all we know, it may not be for any film.
Mahesh’s latest clean-shaven look sparked excitement among fans. It also indicates that the actor has completed nearly all his portions for the Varanasi shoot, with only about 10 percent left to be filmed. The makers are expected to wrap up the remaining schedule soon.
Varanasi to have a Hollywood version
Meanwhile, producer SS Karthikeya recently spoke to Telugu360 and dismissed rumours that Varanasi would not have a theatrical trailer. He confirmed that a trailer is very much on the cards and is expected to be released in March 2027, a couple of weeks ahead of the April 7 release in theatres, as part of a major promotional push. Karthikeya also revealed that a Hollywood version of the film is being considered, with director SS Rajamouli actively exploring the possibility. The film co-stars Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran.
