Hiphop Tamizha’s sequel, Meesaya Murukku 2, is slowly claiming its rightful spot at the box office. The film had a strong start at the box office, collecting over 3 crore. The Tamil film maintained momentum over the weekend and is now surpassing several other 2026 Kollywood films.

The Tamil film had a strong start with over 1500 screens allotted upon release. The film had an occupancy rate above 40% over the opening weekend, registering nearly 15 crore. On its first Monday, the film saw a drop of 19% from its opening day. The film earned 2.35 crore on its first Tuesday with an occupancy rate of 30%. The film’s net total stands at 19.35 crore, which equals 22.83 crore gross.

After beating the lifetime collection of Sardar 2, Meesaya Murukku 2 will beat Idhayam Murali’s total at the box office in India today. The Fahadh Faasil-starrer had earned 20.52 crore at the domestic box office during its theatrical run. Meesaya Murukku 2 just needs 1.17 crore more to beat the film. At the current pace, the Hiphop Tamizha film will easily achieve the milestone today.

While there’s no official word on the budget, Meesaya Murukku 2 is said to be made on a controlled budget of below 20 crore. With 19.3 crore net already in the kitty, it is all set to emerge as a clean box-office success in the first week itself.
