The 2026 MTV Video Music Awards celebrated another year of music with several of the industry’s biggest stars taking home honours across major categories. Taylor Swift, Madonna, BTS, Ariana Grande, Lisa, Bruno Mars, Sabrina Carpenter and more emerged among the night’s winners.

Taylor Swift took home the coveted Video of the Year award for The Fate of Ophelia. She also won Best Direction for Opalite, adding two trophies to her tally for the evening.

Madonna was another major winner at the ceremony. The singer was named Artist of the Year and also picked up multiple technical and genre honours for Confessions II – The Film, including Best Dance, Best Cinematography and Best Choreography.
