A brand new trailer of I Know What You Did Last Summer has dropped, reigniting interest in the iconic slasher thriller franchise. Picking up after the events of the 1998 film I Still Know What You Did Last Summer, it sees Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr reprise their roles as Julie and Ray, respectively. In this instalment, the legacy of Southport takes a terrifying new turn and the film promises a chilling continuation of the story that left a generation sleeping with the lights on.

This chapter sees a new group of friends reckoning with a deadly secret they thought they’d buried, until a relentless figure emerges from the shadows, forcing them into a deadly game of survival. As they seek answers from the survivors of the original Southport Massacre, a disturbing pattern begins to surface. Is this just history repeating itself or something far worse? The trailer also sees Julie deliver her famous line, “What are you waiting for?”

Prinze and Hewitt also reprised their roles in the 1998 sequel I Still Know What You Did Last Summer. Talking about the film, Hewitt told PEOPLE, “There’s a lot of ’90s in there, so get excited because the ’90s are back again!” And there are lots of twists and turns.”

Merging the eerie nostalgia of the ‘90s original with an updated, high-stakes slasher twist, the film introduces a dynamic new cast consisting of Chase Sui Wonders, Madelyn Cline, Sarah Pidgeon, Tyriq Withers and Jonah Hauer-King. The trailer offers a tense glimpse at what’s to come – layers of secrets, shocking revelations, and a killer who knows everything.

I Know What You Did Last Summer will be released in theatres across India on July 18, 2025.
