Horror cinema has not been the strongest suit of the Indian film industry. However, time and again, we see makers experimenting with the genre. And now, with 418, Mythri Movie Makers’ next promises an intense and unsettling horror story rooted in our culture. The makers have released a trailer over 3 minutes long. It is totally engaging and keeps you on the edge of your seat. It teases you enough to be invested and want to know more.

The trailer for the upcoming horror film, presented by Prashanth Neel, promises to explore fear through a serious and unsettling narrative. The film introduces Kirtan Nadagouda as a director and the story’s writer. Naveen Yerneni and Yalamanchili Ravi Shankar are backing the project, which features Chaithra Achar, Surya Raj, Charan Lakkaraju, Preethi Pagadala, and Shashank Patil in key roles.

The trailer opens with a watchman revealing that no bird has entered the building premises, which people consider haunted. A medical college uses the building, which stood abandoned for 15 years on isolated land surrounded by dense forest. The trailer further introduces 18-year-old Vivek, who finds himself caught between reality and hallucinations. The mystery deepens as the VIMS building, which remained sealed for 15 years, reopens despite local opposition, while Room No. 418 hides a terrifying secret. The real chills begin when Devika, the ghost who used to reside in 418, enters the story.

While the opening portions of the trailer suggest a psychological thriller centered on a youngster caught between reality and imagination, the narrative soon takes a terrifying turn. It reveals that the story is not just the young boy’s imagination but promises a deeper look into the injustice imposed on a young woman. We see scenes of bloodshed caused by Devika and glimpses of her past before she became a terrifying ghost. Devika was a pregnant woman who underwent something horrible during her pregnancy. What happened to her is a mystery that the film will unearth. Every frame is designed to send shivers down the spine and deliver an edge-of-the-seat experience. Director Kirtan Nadagouda keeps the storytelling focused and gripping, packing the trailer with genuinely scary moments without resorting to unnecessary comedy, distractions, or commercial deviations.

Chaithra Achar is the standout, delivering a haunting, spine-chilling performance as Devika. Her terrifying on-screen presence and eerie actions bring a real fear factor to the trailer. The trailer also offers glimpses of the other important characters portrayed by Surya Raj, Charan Lakkaraju, Preethi Pagadala, and Shashank Patil.

The trailer succeeds brilliantly in creating a strong sense of fear and mystery. With its atmospheric visuals, chilling performances, haunting score, and supernatural thrills, 418 is set to offer a gripping horror experience. The film is slated for a pan-India release during on October 23 in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi languages.
