Kamal Haasan has extended his congratulations to Rajinikanth and the team behind Jailer 2 following the film’s release and reported success. The actor and Member of Parliament took to social media to share a message celebrating the latest collaboration between Rajinikanth, director Nelson Dilipkumar and music composer Anirudh Ravichander. The film, produced by Sun Pictures, sees Rajinikanth reprise one of his recent popular roles, with Nelson returning to direct the sequel to the 2023 action entertainer Jailer.

Taking to his X account, Kamal wrote, “I learnt about the reports that Jailer 2, which released today and features my esteemed friend Superstar Rajinikanth in the lead, has found success. I congratulate my friend, director Nelson, and music composer Anirudh, and the team from Sun Pictures on their success.”

The message comes as Jailer 2 continues the story of Tiger Muthuvel Pandian, the formidable former jailer introduced in the first instalment. Kamal’s congratulatory note also acknowledges the filmmaker and composer, whose contributions were central to bringing the sequel to the screen.

The relationship between Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth remains one of the most enduring associations in Tamil cinema. The assessment points to the elements that continue to define the franchise, particularly Rajinikanth’s commanding screen presence and Nelson’s ability to build entertaining sequences around the star. At the same time, the review notes that the film’s crowded screenplay and inconsistencies in its technical execution prevent it from reaching its full potential.

For Rajinikanth, the sequel represents another outing as a character who has become a significant part of his recent filmography.
