It has opened at #4 in the box office rankings in North America. The movie has opened with the lowest numbers, even below Digger‘s $3.5 million Friday opening-day collection.

Compared to The Social Network‘s opening-day gross, it is much lower. For the unversed, The Social Network collected $8 million on its opening day, Friday, at the North American box office. It is more than $6 million less than the predecessor’s opening day gross. The opening weekend of the sequel is also lower than the initially projected range.
