A day before Anbe Diana hit theatres, the romantic entertainer received a major vote of confidence from Sivakarthikeyan. The actor recently watched Pari Elavazhagan’s sophomore directorial venture and praised the film, offering words of encouragement to the team ahead of its release.

Sivakarthikeyan’s appreciation gives the team a timely boost

Production banner Million Dollar Studios shared pictures from the special screening featuring Sivakarthikeyan alongside Pari Elavazhagan, Ramya Ranganathan and Parithabangal-fame Gopi. Expressing their gratitude, the makers wrote, “Nothing is more rewarding than receiving heartfelt appreciation from someone you truly look up to Our favourite star, dearest Sivakarthikeyan watched Anbe Diana and embraced it with so much love Thank you sir, for your wholehearted appreciation and encouragement to the entire team. It means more than words can express.”

The appreciation carries added significance for Pari Elavazhagan, who has often spoken about looking up to Sivakarthikeyan’s journey in the industry. Ever since making his mark with Jama, the filmmaker has openly credited the star as one of the biggest reasons he believed he, too, could pursue a career in cinema.

Speaking about his admiration earlier, Pari had said, “I entered the cinema industry, looking at Sivakarthikeyan’s growth here. He is my inspiration. I would want to work with him in the near future, either on a fun film or a genre that he hasn’t explored before, like a gangster movie.”

For Pari, receiving praise from the very actor who inspired him marks a full-circle moment. With Anbe Diana arriving in theatres, Sivakarthikeyan’s endorsement also adds to the positive buzz surrounding the film.

Anbe Diana explores love across faiths and family traditions

Written, directed by and starring Pari Elavazhagan, Anbe Diana follows a cheerful young man who falls in love with Diana, an Anglo-Indian woman played by Ramya Ranganathan. What begins as a breezy romance soon turns into an emotional family drama when the couple finds themselves caught between two households with deeply rooted religious beliefs and traditions.

The trailer suggests that the conflict stems not from the couple themselves, but from their families. While the hero’s mother expects Diana to embrace Hindu customs after marriage, her father insists that the young man adopt Christian rituals. As both families attempt to preserve their beliefs, the young couple must navigate expectations, faith and identity while trying to hold on to their relationship.

Apart from Pari Elavazhagan and Ramya Ranganathan, the film also stars Roja Selvamani, Chetan and Parithabangal Gopi in pivotal roles. Bharath Shankar has composed the music, while Shelley Calist has handled cinematography and Partha MA has served as editor. Backed by Million Dollar Studios in association with Neo Castle Creations and Era Entertainments, Anbe Diana releases in theatres on July 17.
